AsiaCongress Events Co.,Ltd., Southeast Asia’s leading exhibition company, is celebrating its ten year anniversary with an art contest focusing on the concept around which it does business—the exhibition floor.
Top submissions are expected to showcase the buzz and excitement that takes place as buyers and sellers meet under one roof.
The contest opens today and runs through July 31, 2009. The ‘Art of Exhibition’ contest is open to students from top Universities in Thailand renown for their art and design programs. Entries can involve any aspect of the Meetings, Incentives, Exhibitions and Events (MICE) industry. Paintings, photography and mixed-media works will be accepted, and entrants must submit their artwork in digital or physical form no later than 6 p.m. July 31. In addition to receiving recognition on the AsiaCongress Web site, the winner will receive a 50,000 baht cash prize.

“Thailand is renown around the world as a destination for exhibitions and events. Thailand is also known worldwide for the creativity and artistic abilities of its people. So we decided to combine the two into a contest to celebrate the talents of Thailand as well as the 10th anniversary of our business,” said Marcel Ewals, managing director, Asia Congress Events Co. Judging will be conducted by members of the AsiaCongress management team, who will weigh creativity along with artistic talent. No copyrighted or trademarked imagery will be accepted.
The contest will accept submissions that encapsulate the spirit of the exhibition floor, said Naomi Bolderhey, Asia Congress head of marketing and key account sales.
“The exhibition floor plays host to delegates from around the globe, each representing their company, forging relationships and exchanging ideas,” said Bolderhey. “These convergences are where business comes to life.”
