Land Rover Thailand announces that it will be a co-sponsor of the 5th Koh Samui Regatta, scheduled to take place off the shores of Chawaeng, Koh Samui between 21st and 27th May.
Richard Haigh, President, Land Rover Thailand, stated that “Land Rover has been re-focusing its marketing activities to be more event orientated, which we would describe as Experiential Marketing. The objective is to get as close as we can to our customer base and to give them the opportunity to try our products in all terrains.”
Richard went on to say, “The Koh Samui Regatta, now a truly international yachting event presents an ideal opportunity to reach new customers and we are proud to be the official vehicle of the event.”
The Koh Samui Regatta is widely regarded as the highlight of the Asian sailing circuit, the week long event, now officially recognised by the International Sailing Federation brings together many of the world’s top sailors for an action packed week of sailing, partying and enjoying the many different pursuits that the tropical island of Koh Samui can offer.
Land Rover will be bringing along 20 of its very latest vehicles to support the event itself, also to provide 2 exciting days of island discovery. Race goers and guests alike will have the opportunity to explore the wilderness of Samui’s interior and enjoy stunning views courtesy of Land Rover’s Freelander, Discovery and Range Rover models.
For those who are even more daring there will be the opportunity to learn the ropes of piloting a Land Rover vehicle off road, under expert instruction. And of course there will be the Land Rover Regatta party on May 26th at the famous Eat Sense restaurant in Chawaeng.
For Land Rover, the Koh Samui Regatta is the third of three major Experiential events taking place in April/May. The action starts with the International G4 Challenge, a 4 week adventure challenging competitors to their wits against each other in Thailand, Laos, Brazil and Bolivia. The G4 Challenge kicks off on April 23rd in Sanam Luang park; all are welcome to see this spectacle.
G4 is followed, in early May, by a driving experience event for selected Land Rover customers, a five day on and off road trip from Luang Phrabang in Laos all the way to Bangkok in 60 bright orange G4 vehicles.
Finally, the Koh Samui Regatta programme starts on May 20th with the first race day; Land Rover’s specific events take place on May 26th and 27th.
