Bangkok--24 Nov--DC Consultants and Marketing Communications

The Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau are together opening the first Guangdong Products Show in Thailand. The exhibition is showcasing quality products from more than 200 leading Cantonese companies as well as facilitating trade networking between Thai and Chinese business people, from today until November 25 at Challenger Hall 3, Impact Muang Thong Thani. Zhu Zenan, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province (DOFTEC), said that the Guangdong Products Show would demonstrate Guangdong’s expertise in manufacturing and technological innovations, enhance direct trade relationship between Thai and Chinese entrepreneurs, and extend the market for Guangdong’s products to Southeast Asian countries. “Guangdong was the first China’s province to implement the economic reform and openness policy and the first to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Asean,” he said. “We expect this exhibition to receive more than 6,000 trade and public visitors and to further boost commercial relationship between China and Thailand as well as Asean.” Guangdong Products Show 2010 has been organised by the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province and Worldex GEC China Co Ltd. On an exhibition space of 4,000 square metres, products from more than 200 companies will be displayed, grouped in five industries: home appliances and electronic devices; home and office furnishings; automotive products and accessories; lamps and lighting equipment, and toys. The event will also host negotiations between Chinese and Thai operators in the five industries. To provide Thai traders with useful information on trading procedures, there are seminars on partnership with Chinese business people and import and export regulations for toys and furniture, led by experts from the DOFTEC and the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce of Importers & Exporters. Part of the exhibition hall has been transformed into a typical Cantonese district to present the Cantonese Food Festival. An array of authentically prepared Cantonese dishes will be offered to visitors at special prices, as well as many kinds of desserts and beverages. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Senior Strategic and Marketing Manager of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said the organization was delighted to support Guangdong Products Show, as the exhibition will be a valuable opportunity for introducing China’s latest products and technologies as well as stimulating a more dynamic trade between Thailand and China. “TCEB has been actively promoting international trade through the MICE (meetings, incentive travels, conventions and exhibitions) industry in order to strengthen a positive reputation for Thailand as a centre for trade exhibitions in the Asean region,” she said. “With the readiness of the organizers and the support from all sectors, we are certain that this exhibition will be a successful event.” “Guangdong Products Show 2010 will promote understanding and goodwill between Thai and Chinese business people and contribute to the continuous growth of mutual trade,” said Gao Wenkuan, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand. Guangdong Products Show 2010 will continue until November 25, 10.00 am to 6.30 pm at Challenger Hall 3, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
