Voices of America Concert On Friday, May 10th, 2013 At Rattanakosin Lounge, The Sukosol Bangkok

Sukosol Hotels, U.S. Embassy in Thailand, Chulalongkorn University and American Voices are proud to present the ‘Voices of America Concert’ in conjunction with the 2013 YES Academy on May 10th at The Sukosol Bangkok. Launched in 2007, the Youth Excellent on Stage (YES) Academy program serves as American Voices’ flagship cultural engagement program, as a means to further accessibility and understanding of American performing arts and culture. The Academy accomplishes these goals through an intensive 10-day training program, with high-quality professional training and performances in some of America’s great cultural genres, including Broadway, jazz, hip hop, classical orchestra and conducting. The program was formed to bring an inspiring and motivating performing arts experience to Thailand’s aspiring young actors, dancers and musicians. In addition to building bridges among Thai youth from different regions and backgrounds, the program creates new avenues of communication and collaboration with the United States and among ASEAN and South Asian nations. The YES Academy Thailand 2013 will be the fifth year of YES in Thailand. This dynamic program for the development of young talent (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Nepal, etc) will take place during May 4–12, 2013 on the campus of Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. Ten artist teachers representing the Unites States’ best universities, orchestras and theatres will be on hand to guide the aspiring students. They come from the worlds of Broadway, street dance, violin, cello, composition, viola, jazz, conducting, hip hop, musical theatre, etc. These skilled professionals will put on an exclusive ‘variety show’ concert with a few star pupils for the general public on Friday, May 10th at 7:00 pm at Rattanakosin Lounge, The Sukosol, Bangkok. Ticket price is Baht 500 for adults and Baht 250 for student (with valid ID). After the show enjoy 50% off drinks at the hotel’s sophisticated and sassy Sapphire Bar.
